absolutely wonderful, I had a person in my life who meant so much to me that this poem perfectly describes

I think it makes sense since most of the earlier lines represent how much the pure love to sacrifice—that unless the person in return not appreciating, in the end, they just don't deserve this innocent pure hearted affection.

But I can see what you mean, since the last line's idea hasn't fully been explored earlier (mostly focus on the expansive kindness).
