just a
trim,
just an
inch,
or two
but not
three.
just to
lose
the dead
ends,
let me
breathe
more eas
ily.
but the
blades
want more
bite,
and the
hair
dresser
knows
well, says
it is
for the
best
you'll smile
when it
–each strand
looks healthier.
and when it's all over i frown at the mirror,
gaze at the locks around my feet,
i tear up at the sight; scattered parts of me,
& with the weight on my shoulders now lighter
i'm forced to keep my chin up.
