We built a Consequential Manor
In a Consequential Way
We hired no contractor
But knew which bricks to lay
~
There are potholes on our street
And sometimes there's bad weather
But so pleasing to the you and I,
Everything that we built together
~
So we made a Consequential Pact
For our two Forevers (and two weeks)
To keep on building, consequences stacked
And to patch up any springing leaks
~
With weeds we make dandelion salad
And the rain-water feeds a creek
Life's lemon garnish is a ballad
And our tears dance down our cheeks
~
We built a Consequential Manor
So consequently, we do fine
And have a charming cellar
Where we're making our own wine

Consequential Manner
The idea of a dandelion salad is so beautiful and complex, if explains a feeling hard to express in words,
Something so beautiful tarnished because of hunger. Beautiful
But so pleasing to the you and I,
this line drives me a bit wild because the rest of the poem is so fluid
if it's just for sound, "to both you and I" would work better
if there's some significance to the phrasing "the you and I" I think that needs to be spelled out or hinted at to justify it
It's a loose pun on "pleasing to the eye"
it is really refreshing though to have a poem that is about love and domesticity in this sweet way that's in touch with the natural world
Yay dandy salad!!!
