you know what i enjoy about short poems is how impactful they can be with minimal words. and this one does that exactly. the imagery of love “play[ing] with my strings” is a perfect and concise representation of feeling manipulated and having one's emotions jerked around.

similarly love “hum[ming] the song” is a haunting way to describe the insidious return of forgotten pain. those are some really raw and powerful imagery! your control over rhythm and focus is excellent!

“i hate love for it plays with my strings” oh i love that image of being a puppetmnot to a person, but to the idea of love itself...is so sharp. it’s like ur tired of being pulled in directions you didn’t choose. “it hums the song i tried so hard to forget” ahh that’s the worst part, isn’t it? when love doesn’t just bring new feelings...it resurrects old ones. it digs up graves you tried to walk away from🥲
