If I were to choose between the two,
I’d rather burn in fire
than remain in the cold without you.
For what is the use of a life wrapped in frost,
when it is the warmth of your gaze that gives meaning to my breath?
With every kindling of the night,
you are the flame I cannot extinguish;
the fire that, despite storms and tears,
I continue to worship beneath my chest.
Perhaps, in the eyes of the world, I am a fool—
a writer willing to be consumed by his own faith.
Yet in every ash of my poem,
your name still dwells.
If this be the punishment of love,
I’ll accept the burn with a smile;
for I would rather vanish in the heat of your arms
than live in the coldness of a world without you.
And should fate decide to condemn me,
let it turn me into ash—
the ash of a love that you once called your own.

Wow. If you're looking for genuine observation of technique. The semantic field is sooo strong - I love a good semantic field: 'burn', 'warmth', 'kindling', 'flame', 'fire', 'ash', 'heat'.
But the message itself should relate to a lot of people. Happily welcoming that burning, that punishment because what else is there? Being alone? That it burns no matter how much you cry over it or maybe even 'try' to soothe and 'extinguish'. It's welcoming a pain for the warmth. Even if it turns you to ash. Letting the fates cut your string, willingly. It's the harsher side of loving someone. Very well written to be honest. I liked it.
