Be happy, be happy, when something is gone,
Perhaps it belonged where it truly shone.
Be happy, be happy, when treasures depart,
Maybe they’ve mended another one’s heart.
Be happy, be happy, though broken inside,
For pain may have healed where sorrow resides.
And if the ache lingers, too heavy to bear,
Then share it with others, find light in their care.
Be happy, be happy, if life treats you kind,
With shelter and clothing, with peace for the mind.
And if you have plenty, then give what you may,
To soften the wounds that darken the day.
Be happy, be happy, when questions arise,
“Why smile through the storm, with tears in your eyes?”
