Cut it off but the cord is still attached
A string of blood that still hangs between

I asked for clarity
You gave me an answer
Yet for some reason you don’t be true
And I have internal banter

Goodbye means goodbye
No more replies

But infront of thousands of people
You acknowledge me
Like some petty way of not saying sorry
To pretend like you still mean anything to me

Don’t go back on your words
Hold your truth

Since you won’t do it
I’ll cut the string myself
To believe I was the one
Who held with no help?

I think you're trying really hard to fulfill a rhyme and rhythm that's hurting your word choices

#

I would continue the string metaphor throughout the middle of the poem

#

Because right now it seems somewhat discombobulated

#

You have the metaphor in the beginning, abandon it for a more straightforward version of events, and then bring it back
