Dream Code
She walked where leaves were made of flame,
The air still sang her secret name.
Even when she had gone afar,
They still heard her laughter — she left the door ajar.
She twirled through rings of dappled shade,
Where light and leaf in laughter played.
The forest sewed what it could sew,
And sang the song it never knew.
The time seemed to seep too slow,
The trees seemed to lean too low.
The stream sang out in static haze,
The forest turned to an undue maze.
She ran — no path, no sky, no true,
The forest tore the light in two.
Her echoes screamed in crimson hue,
It rose — Stay, we always dream of you.
She found herself beside the stream,
A shadow sewn from breath and dream.
It smiled, and every tree withdrew —
We built your sleep, we made you true.
Now hush, it said, the night breaks through,
We dream of us, not only you.
Light fractures, colours crawl.
Her laughter pixelates — fall, fall, fall.
Sky hums fluorescent — bone tone — no one,
nothing. Voice of the dream — gone.
Static mouth, eyes of blue, neon rain bleeds through.
Sleep, sleep, too.
Touch — too near — too bright to fear,
breath of the forest — voice in her ear.
The stream repeats, a looping tide —
you never left, you’re inside, inside.
Hands blur — light shivers through,
eyes split open — old and new.
A thousand selves hum into one —
we are you — dream is — done.
Was it dream or was it me
