Why the crossbow?

Why any of it
at all?

Why constant
stimuli in a
mad dash?

Why princess framing
in a meritocracy?

Why 24/7?

Why skydiving
from the cabin?

Why slipping through
doors and windows
in adolescence?

Why christmas day
many times over?

Why question?

Why peter pan
and pirates?

Why combed hair,
precision shaves
and tailors?

Why eating out
for a change?

Why split up?

Why knocking back
old habits?

Why succumb
to temptation
now and again?

Why help
the ungrateful?

Why the crossbow,
when doing just fine
as is?

I'm not sure I understand the poem. I think its questioning why we seek change when the staus quo is just fine. Not sure though. I also don't understand the crossbow metaphor. I think its a reference I just don't get. If you could help me understand I'd appreciate it

nah im just kidding

#

Basically the crossbow when designed was seen as sort of

#

“Unsportsmanlike”

#

So a lot of people just straught up wouldn’t use it

#

In war

#

They wouldn’t use an obvious advantage

#

So it could be seen as quite cynical to question the validity of things that better the world

#

However in this case i kinda get the vibe that its more about just any advancement not necessarily good

#

Idk i don’t like explaining everything fully

This is actually interesting cause the meaning you’d probably arrive at with this title that i have now noticed isn’t what i meant

#

So
