grief well depicted here, when grieving it’s like a feeling that “hold[s] on”, or maybe “holding on” could refer to mentally holding on to the memories of the subject/object being grieved.

it does linger, not a better word to describe it.

the association in grief to warmth I find interesting to ponder, because usually I would see grief as cold - but perhaps it’s knowing the personal association or connection to the subject/object grieved that brings warmth (seemingly paradoxically), like the warmth of tears on a pillow, or.. is it warmth because at least you can cling on to memories and an idea of the subject/object even if he/she/it/he(they)/she(they) are gone.

as if the feelings and thoughts of grieving are the only which remain… and that is the only warming comfort

resonated with this small piece,
because I have seen how grief can be a gnawing that doesn’t go away and it’s there with distant memories that remain in the back of mind, never truly going away.

and the visual structure of this poem also resonates deeply — grief can make it difficult to focus, scattering the mind as it tries to process the loss. the fact that the speaker does not specify what is grieved or elaborate on it could indicate the speaker’s difficulty to come to terms with the reality of it.

This; is well done; I love how it provokes the state of mind on being ok til its not. It shows how it feels in its control till the emotions lose that control. Well done Ben 💜

This is a very clever poem! Writing about grief from a lingering warmth lost, then grief holds on, lingering, the way you do as you hold onto it, becoming your own grief, and GRIEF BECOMES YOUR WARMTH?? Wow.

If the warmth you were given has faded into the cold, grief comes to console you. Tears are warm in your face. Your body warms from the tears.

I love how vague it is with the subject of grief, it's strongly wide open to interpretation! So so amazing Benny 🤌 NoizeLoves
