Leaving me heartbroken

Heartbroken
That is how you left me
Breaking me into a million pieces
Like glass shatters on the floor

How could you leave me so easily
When you loved me so heavenly
Fighting for me so recklessly

I know you never meant to hurt me
That they didn’t give you another choice

How I wish to never feel like that again
Only for you to bring it upon me to have it again
Just wishing for a different outcome this time

You gave me your life
Not once
But twice

Who knows maybe, just maybe
You will hand me it
Just one more time

God it has been a while since I was able to write something that was finished and decent 💀
Followed a fun workshop of Isabella Dorta where I wrote this.

The topic was metamorphasis - butterfly effect, the topic of my poem isn't really butterfly effect I think, but I can't for the life of me remember what is.
Basically how my soul dog was suddenly sick and put down and I didn't get to say goodbye, years later getting a new soul dog that is currently 12 years old and who knows when her goodbye is due..
