#Sun-shine

You come around like sun-shine after rain
Lighting the skies ablaze with colour
Red blue green purple
Yet your soul shines like gold
Cold to touch
Firm and strong
Yet susceptible to break

Your pain filled of sunrays
Of joy you use to cover shame
It builds your walls up
But does not erase
You fill me with sunshine
Even on your coldest of days
Engulfed in ice
You thaw me through

You’re sunshine to my flame
Brighter still
Yet night comes to steal you away
I loathe the night but hope for you
To put up a fight
And defeat the moon
You come around like sun-shine after pain
I see you still
Ever the same
Shine so bright
I love your glow
Hope you love it too
someday also

You shine like the sun’s roaring flames
I keep you close in heart
You shine like strings of gold
People try to pull apart
You hold steady still
You are sun-shine
You think you are made of disappointment
You never have been
You never will

Omg this is so cute!! It’s like a little sunbeam wrapped in words — seriously, it feels like watching someone you love smile without realizing how much they light up the room. The way you describe them as sunshine after pain?? Adorable. And the whole “you thaw me through” part?? Ugh, my heart. It’s all soft and glowy and full of love, like a warm hug turned into a poem. You can feel how much they mean to you, and it’s just so sweet how you’re cheering them on, hoping they’ll see how golden they really are. Literal sunshine vibes — I love it sm. 🥹💛✨

And they show me they're writing haha

#

But yeah it was really important that this poem convey that sense of warmth and comfort

#

I have other more dark or uncomfortable poems

#

I find it interesting to dip into both extremeties

#

Often joy and pain enhance eachother in art

#

So in a poem bringing joy, pain becomes central and therefore it can be transmutted into joy

#

Vice versa with my harsher poems, often drawing on past joy will enhance pain and sorrow
