I love joy, for I remember who gave it to me.

I love laughter, for I remember He is kind.

I love people, for in them I see their creator.

I love Imagination, for in myself I see Him too.

I cherish love, for it reminds me who He is.

But above all this…

I love pain, for I remember who heals me.

I love sadness, for I remember why He's here.

I need anger, for it reminds me of why I need Him.

I love persecution, for in it He is always close.

I love heartache, for I remember who comforts me.

I love being human, because He first loved me

Idk I just wrote this quickly so I'll make some adjustments and polish it later... But I thought I'd ask for thoughts and feedback while I sleep lol.
Hope you enjoy it anyway :)

really wonderful poem, it's both personal and relatable in its themes. i especially loved the structure of the poem and its transitions.

few suggestions or ideas you can explore:

  • your repetition is noticeable but a bit inconsistent, consider revising how you use "need" and "cherish."
  • you could also specify the moments where you feel those emotions, letting your voice and experience reflect God's goodness rather than simply stating it.

lastly, for inspiration and feeling "stuck," i recommend reading through the "poetic books"
Job
Psalms
Proverbs
Ecclesiastes
Song of Songs

and prayer!!
