My Balm of Gilead

My balm of Gilead,
Curing my biggest threat.
It’s the way you carefully ted,
The troubling thoughts I had,
Endlessly terrorising my head.

In the deep dreading darkness,
You alone manifest happiness.
Wondering about our future,
The brightest odyssey I sculpture.
A faded reality of my creation,
Driven by temptation.
A product of my imagination,
Life with endless regeneration.

You’d think I’m oblivious,
But for me it’s obvious.
Those eyes, so devious,
Making me believe in us.

Like a patron forced to pay,
I gave my heart away,
without asking if I may,
Hoping fate would clear its way.
My mind thinks of you every day,
And as long as there’s a way,
This hankering heart won’t decay.

Anyone else isn’t enough,
That's what makes it tough.
You’re too god damn perfect,
No one else could resurrect,
The feelings you convect.

At this point, if you’d ask,
I may reject a future us.
My feelings I might mask.
A sensation so torturous,
But for you I’m just a frask,
Dealing with this accismus.

Now, just enjoying your presence,
All just a dream, in an odd sense,
Looking now, through a clear lens,
Getting to the next step: acceptance.

Not denying all the dread,
Not giving into my led,
No drowning in regret,
But accepting what I get.
Through the love to which I plead,
The heavens to which I was led,
To the place where angels tread.
Thank you, my balm of Gilead.
