I was sitting on the floor,
Walls surrounding me—
A silence pulling me down.
I can't breathe.
I want to get out.
I chased a light,
Ran for a mile,
Until the world softened—
And I finally felt
The greens beneath my feet.
The light here dances like hope on water,
Trees rise—solemn, ancient sentinels.
A vine grazes the curve of my ear,
Murmuring secrets the wild won’t share twice.
The wind hums in a forgotten tongue,
Soft as lullabies wrapped in leaves.
The moss beneath remembers me—
A girl who once forgot to breathe.
I couldn’t see the stars before,
To make my wish come true.
But they spoke of a wishing tree,
And now, I believe it might be.
There is a tree,
Its branches reach beyond the clouds,
Rooted in the earth,
Its whispers carried to the stars.
The forest hums with a quiet song,
Its silence deep, where I belong.
The air is still, the world at rest,
In this calm, I feel my chest
Open wide, and I can see—
This silence, at last, setting me free.
#Where I Find the Forest

I used to think silence was proof of abandonment. That quiet meant no one was coming, no one cared. But this poem? It's about learning that some silences aren't empty—they're sacred. That maybe the world doesn't always scream to be heard; sometimes it whispers through moss and moonlight. It’s a journey from feeling buried by walls to finding roots in stillness. Somewhere between the breath I lost and the forest I imagined, I realized... maybe I never needed saving. Maybe I just needed space to listen to myself.

It makes me feel like this poem wandered into the kind of forest that only exists in daydreams and quiet hearts. Thank you for sharing that feeling with me—it means so much. 🌲✨
