We started as strangers,
Ended as friends—
But not in the way
I hoped it would end.
You from the north,
I from the south.
You were my equal—
No worries, no doubt
You weren’t the sweetest,
Not sugar, not salt
Yet Still,
you carved your name deep into my skin.
Love once sweet as honey,
Eyes dark as chocolate
But sadly,
we all must reap what we sow.
I wish we could go back—
Back to the old days,
When we were in sync
Like beating hearts
Your love is no longer mine—
There’s surely not a doubt
Knowing this…
Makes me want to scream,
Or shout,
Or even curse your name
From mountain peaks

Thank you for also being one of my usual poem likers it means a lot. I can’t wait to see what poems & other animal facts you have cooking up in the dome💖
