Picture it in your head.
A life so dull,
Every color is tinted with gray.
A life so dead,
Its owner has nothing to say.
When it may,
“I'll go to bed”
Are the only words it said.
A life so heavy,
Even the bags under its eyes
Seem impossible to carry.
A life so dreary,
The world around it's uncanny.
Carrying on with each hard step,
It begins to undress.
Stopping hal f way,
Staring at the filled tub in front.
It steps inside, and moves to lay.
It's head face forward for the first time this month,
It cries,
With words formed in a bouquet.
"The things I see when I pour a hard drink,
The thoughts inside as I bite a sweet dream,
I pray I never come back to think.
The terrible things I see each week,
“This is all a bad joke” it seems.
The brightness of the screen spikes my eyes,
While their voices grate my ears.
If I try to drown myself in this color,
The ringing in my ears will never stop.
If I find the spoiled smell comes from this “color”-
It'd already become burned into the back of my eyelids.
If you hear me cry,
Let me give you my dye.
Everybody's killing,
Yet they seem to be crying.
If everyone's figures stay together,
Mine only seems to tether.
Hey, if this is the process of a life wasted-
I'll remember to give up on fixing what's broken.
With even opinions that seem pasted,
Every time I bathe, it seems to soak in.
Once I remember my face,
I'll fill this tub again,
And let it fill my head.
