But steady hands and open eyes.
 
I’ve waited quiet, soft, and still,
In corners most forget to see
But every breath, I whispered, “Will
You ever come and look for me?”
 
I want you there when things get tough,
Not just when silence feels enough.
I want your voice, your time, your care
Not guessing games or hollow air.
 
I made my heart a hidden thread,
In poems, dreams, and longing eyes.
While others slept, I reached instead
Through starlit thoughts and aching skies.
 
I want a man who wants me whole,
Who doesn’t fear my fire, my soul.
Who shows up proud, and means it too
Not just when told what love should do.
 
I pictured you with water-drenched hair,
With shoes soaked through, but eyes alight.
You’d find me standing quiet there,
And somehow know that this was right.
 
I want your heart, your truest face,
Not someone else I must replace.
Not love that hides or comes too late,
But one that knocks and won’t just wait.
 
I never asked for shallow things,
Like flowers tossed or passing praise.
I wanted hands like steady wings,
A gaze that sets my soul ablaze.
 
So if you’re him, don’t make me ache.
Don’t leave me wondering what’s fake.
Just let me in, and take the leap.
I’ve waited long. I’ve loved so deep.
 
I long for love that doesn’t flinch,
That walks through storms, still reaching out,
That pulls me close without a pinch
Of fear, or shame, or aching doubt.
 
If you’re the one, you’ll feel it burn,
A pull so clear, it twists and turns.
And you’ll come find me when you do,
Because I’ve always dreamed of you.
 
Come find me in my fantasy,
Still dressed in hope, still soft and true.
I’ve waited, love, inside the poetry
I only ever wrote of you.
