Theme: Desire for connection

I whispered your name to the wind in the night,
A dream without shape, yet it still felt so right.
No face, yet I painted you deep in my mind,
A future that hope had been aching to find.

I reached for a hand that had never been there,
Spoke love into spaces of silence and air.
Lit candles for someone I’d never embraced—
Still felt your presence in memory's taste.

Is it so strange to believe in the sky,
Before we have wings or the courage to fly?
To ache for a soul we have never quite known,
Yet feel in the marrow like flesh from our own?

Finished reading all 3, and they’re truly amazing! The narrative arc is very well executed with a very satisfying and heartwarming resolution. The way longing slowly evolves and changes throughout the 3 pieces is very impactful, especially in the second poem where it turns to hurt and grief. Keep up with the great works!
