The Willow
I will hold you close for eternity
I promise that I will never let go
And though we lie in this gorgeous meadow
We will one day face our mortality
But when we die, we’ll transcend together
Our souls will rest underneath the willow
Rest under the afterlife’s golden glow
If I’m not careful there’ll be a tether
My soul ripped from the sky, straight into hell
Even though I resist, soon I am quelled
Even though we’re still alive, I ask you
“What if I don’t make it to God’s domain?
Forever existing tied to a chain
And forced to burn forever without you.”
You look at me, “No. You will make it through”
