i see exactly what you mean when you said it reminds you of this poem. i think this is a beautiful rendition of what it means to be a man. how often it can be that putting all of these things on your shoulders while simultaneously staying silent. almost every line here was very well put and at least somewhat relatable as i’ve experienced quite a bit of it or seen it happen.
Every hand I lent
came back empty.
Every cry I swallowed
left a scar
where my voice used to be.
this poem gave me a feeling that was best described by the ending. “if life is so fleeting, so fragile, why does it ask for so much and give so little in return?” very well written :3 💜
