Candle gives itself away,
Just to fill a purpose.
I am a candle;
I would disintegrate to
guide you through this darkness.
I wish I could have been more;
Maybe just a light bulb,
That would give you a bright room.
But I am just a flickering candle,
I can't chase away this darkness;
I can only light up enough,
So you don't get lost in this void.
I am not a bonfire;
I can't keep you warm.
Maybe if I burn enough,
It'll keep your hands warm.
And I would melt for you;
Bit by bit,
Until there is no flame to blaze.
That's all I can do 'cause,
I am just a candle.

i like it, it really just depicts how we can't guide someone to the fullest extent or give love that'll make every trouble of theirs go away. it's never enough, we can only do so much. thus implementing the limits. i love the poem!
gorgeous piece reflective of self sacrifice and the depth of empathy the narrator experiences, I love this piece!! Well done!
Love love the way your poem speaks!! Straightforwardly emotional
And you idea of expanding on this single metaphor is great as well!
Would love to watch your journey and see how your style includes ways to right pieces with interesting turns, cuz I can totally see you going that way!
Thank you so much for sharing, loved the read
-# (just a lil typo correction, is to insert an apostrophe with "cause" : ['cause]
That's all!
