*You asked me to prove
my love,
to shout to the world that I love you.
I whispered in your ear:
"I love you," because you
were
my
world.

It’s funny how I love you.
I don’t think my heart ever planned for this,
but it was you who knocked on my door
and looked into my eyes.
I told myself that your embrace
was worth more than these fleeting luxuries.

Your kiss is a dose of caffeine
for my mortal sleep,
and you’re the reason the corner bars could close.
You brought me a home
and told me to stay.
Your smile embraced me in my darkest hours.

I wrote your name among the stars,
weaving them with my fingers,
aligning the cosmos,
and bringing the starlit veil to my touch,
just to show the world
that saying "I love you"
would never be enough.

You became my blue ocean,
deep and mysterious,
captivating.

My calmest breeze
and my whirlwind of emotions,
in the best way possible.

The ground beneath my feet
that keeps me steady,
so I don’t grow wings
and lose myself in Icarian fantasies.

The flowers that surround me,
coloring my world
and letting me breathe in your pure fragrance.

You are my sky,
my safe place.

For you...
I would set the world of the living ablaze
just to live with you.
Call it selfishness, but
I would erase the past
and live for the future.

You are the blue skies that enchant me,
you are the sparkle in my eyes
and the shiver down my spine.
You are desire,
my only desire.

You are my world.*

This poem is simply beautiful, a profound and serene declaration of love that warms the heart, each verse containing the immensity of the lyrical self's love for the beloved. The way in which the loved one is described, the metaphors used in each stanza to describe her and compare her to beautiful aspects of nature and life such as the sky, the ocean and the stars make us feel that the feeling here is something gigantic, almost mystical, but at the same time super real.
This beginning with a whispered I love you, instead of shouting it out to the world because the beloved is already the lyrical self's world, is an answer or rather a sweet and romantic way of proving the lyrical self's love, and brings a certain depth reflecting a true love, one that doesn't need grand gestures to be understood. simply beautiful.
And the second stanza embraces the heart, the lyrical self finding humor in the way he loves his beloved, perhaps because of the way the love between them began, as when he says that his heart didn't plan this, as an unexpected event, (this reinforces the idea that we are not in charge of our hearts), this eye-to-eye thing, as if at that moment when the beloved knocks on the door, the fervor of love begins and this feeling is so strongly felt by the lyrical self:
I told myself that your embrace
was worth more than these fleeting luxuries.

as if all the gold in the world couldn't make him as happy as being in the warm embrace of that love.
And we see how much this love invigorates the lyrical self, makes him well,
Your kiss is a dose of caffeine
for my mortal sleep,
and you're the reason the corner bars could close.
You brought me a home
and told me to stay.
Your smile embraced me in my darkest hours.

the kiss like caffeine to awaken from “mortal sleep”, as if the beloved brought vitality to him, taking him out of mortal sleep, as if instantly freeing him from the ills that afflicted him, an awakening of the soul, because love, in its emotional complexity, is mainly a fuel that sets us in motion, and that is too beautiful. The bars on the corners being able to close, as a representation that the sadness, the disappointments of the lyrical self disappeared when he found this love, since we usually see bars representing the place where we drown our sorrows and disappointments, not only in alcohol but in the place as a whole, and all this imagery and metaphors in this stanza show how the lyrical self has been reinvigorated at the same time as he has been giving himself more and more to this feeling, where the bars can close because he no longer sees a need for them, there is no longer a feeling that makes him want to be there, there is only the love that consumes him, this is very deep and powerful. The part where he says that his beloved has brought him a home, asking him to stay, is even more profound, it shows how the lyrical self feels good and comfortable with his beloved, it's as if love represents the safest and most welcoming place in the world, a home that isn't physical, but that brings tranquillity and a certain connection.

And even with the beautiful and direct declaration at the beginning with the whisper of “I love you”, the lyricist goes on to say that this is not enough, that no words can fully describe this love. As if there were no way to express the love he feels with all the force, with this beautiful image of writing the name of his beloved among the stars, it is as if he were making a comparison between love and space, something that goes beyond human understanding, it is a feeling that is not a simple feeling, it is something universal and almost eternal.
The comparison that the lyrical self makes between the beloved and aspects of nature gives more meaning and weight to the name of the poem itself, and also more emphasis on the idea that the beloved has brought light into the lyrical self's life, being the deep and mysterious ocean, as if it weren't possible to completely decipher the beloved, but it still fascinates him; the calm breeze and at the same time a whirlwind of emotions, like the euphoric part of love, that part that makes hearts race, a passion that brings peace, but also sweeps you away from time to time, with all the force of emotion, but as the lyrical self says, it's in a good way; the ground beneath his feet, perhaps representing an image of centrality, which keeps him in “reality”, “firm” even if he's floating in this love. In other words, it's as if he's saying “you're my world” in an indirect way, but in such a poetic, beautiful and unique way, that it makes you feel and lose yourself in these emotions.

But the ending is one of my favorite parts, this “setting fire to the world of the living just to live with his beloved” is wonderful, he is willing to make an immense sacrifice, leave behind everything that existed before, erase the past and create a new reality with his beloved. This is more than love, it is a passion so total that it accepts nothing less than the total surrender of hearts. The confession at the end “you are my world” shows how important the beloved is to the lyrical self, she is the sky, she is the air, she is the reason for everything. This transforms love into something transcendental, an experience that goes beyond simple desire and becomes something special.
Simply beautiful, romantic, an incredible statement that captivates you just by reading it, You nailed it!!!! SaberSaysPretty SaberSaysPretty heartpotat
