To my Goddess I’ll abide
Into the ship I embark
Through seas never before sailed
Red bloom, red-trailed
The wood is wet and smooth,
And She guides my hand
Though She is not here, not yet
She is far in another land
Trapped in the claws,
Of the monster that we know,
She is pride; She is love
And I shall have her back
The ship has its gentle sway
And with it,
I stare far away
My goddess that is trapped
I shall have her back
The storm shakes and destroys
The ships balances in the waves
To the waves, just a toy
Swaying without joy
Grabbing onto its wheel,
I scream, “Down with the sails!”
But in the wind I am not heard
And it flips
Water, salt,
Burns my eyes
No control of my direction
Here my hope dies
And then in the sand,
Of the place I should be
I look around, and I stand
I see where things go to die.
My Goddess, there in the sky.
I trek through the evergreen forest
Cold and unforgiving
I climb the mountain that is hell,
Ice and snow, unadoring
In my camp I light my fire
Keeping my hands warm for Her
I hear a scream,
I am full of ire
Thus I run up the mountain,
Tired legs and sore feet,
Breathy and tired,
I come upon a cavern
And I walk in in;
I scream for Her
She is close, I can feel Her power
And there she is.
Among Her ashes.
I fall to my knees
Reach out, retract my hand
My tears wet what is left of Her
I so wish it was just sand.
There is no hand for me to hold,
No perfect form that She may take
Charred bits and ash
That shines for Her divine sake
From noon 'till dawn
I stay by Her
I don't know what to do
My head under my hands
I miss Her.
My dear Goddess
My dear love.
Her ash in my hands, in my keep.
I put her away with me.
