My opinion stands that this is achieved through literature: by writing about it, we inadvertantly make lignin of our xylems and phloems and stick it back together stronger than ever before. Now to address what you said in last line—The concept of seeing or knowing oneself is being proposed here & the metaphor happens to be, A reflection—yours or anyone else’s—it can only occur when something interrupts or blocks light isn’t it ? That is why I referred to in someone else’s gaze, as it applies not just to the observer but also to the one being observed.
