I gaze at the moon,
Grasped by its light.
I extend an arm,
Reaching to hold.
Meeting with my fingers,
It ripples.
Yes,
Breaking from the pond's illusion.
With reality, I am hit.
A mere reflection, so beautiful,
Leaves me extending to the true moon.
The immeasurable distance,
The suffocating challenges...
I will overcome,
Until I see that smile,
Shining my world, just like the moon.

i really am impressed
I enjoy the break in an illusion, is the poem retain love or is it simply motivation with the endurance to continue on? Still a wonderful poem, thank you for sharing.
I was thinking of how far one may go for someone they love to make them smile whether it be spouse, parents, children etc... in context of initially they were under the illusion that they were smiling/happy, but then hit with reality that it was merely a temporary smile, or not a true smile from the heart, and there is a lot of things needed to overcome to reach that person's smile and protect it forever, however the "illusionary" smile was so beuatiful, that all the hardship will be worth it
