That’s such a great question, and honestly, I think it’s completely normal to feel that way. 💖 I personally believe that both showing and telling can have their place in poetry—it’s all about finding the balance that feels right for you and your message. There are definitely moments when telling just fits better, especially when you want to be really clear about what you’re saying. Sometimes, you want your point to be right there, no guessing, just raw and honest. And that’s okay!
But I totally get that fear of people not understanding—it's something a lot of us feel. I’ve learned that it’s important to trust your readers, though. Even if they interpret something differently than you intended, that’s kind of the beauty of it, you know? They connect with your words in their own way. And at the same time, if your heart is telling you to spell something out, don’t be afraid to do that either. Your voice, your feelings—they matter.
I think the key is to write in a way that feels true to you. Whether you're showing or telling, what matters most is that your message is genuine and comes from the heart. ❤️
