If you are looking for happiness,
See it through the lens of peace and kindness.
If you are looking for happiness,
See it through the glass of hope and brightness.

There is hope in every sunrise,
A new beginning in every sunset.
A bit of agony in the quiet night,
Then we are back on our journey again.

There’s a lot to come in your path,
You’ll face the pain of feeling torn apart,
Breaking your own heart,
Waiting for the brightest part.

Don’t worry too much about what others say;
I need you to know that clouds aren’t always gray.
Silver linings often hide in plain sight,
Turning dark days into light.

We can’t be buried in the grave of grief,
And I know everyone can’t be a Phoenix.
But we can try to be a spider,
Taking a step forward after every failure.

After the web is torn,
We rebuild again, though we may be worn.
Like the spider, we rebuild our grace,
Stepping forward after every misstep.

If you are looking for happiness,
See it through the lens of peace and kindness.
If you are looking for happiness,
See it through the glass of hope and brightness.

Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes finding happiness can seem like a challenge. But I’ve learned that happiness often lies in our perspective, in the way we choose to see the world and embrace hope, peace, and kindness.

This poem is literally one of the best I've ever read and incredibly motivational. I would replace this with "If" by Rudyard Kipling any day of the week. The first stanza is so powerful and reassuring only with 6 lines of poetry.

The 2nd stanza is easily my favourite the sky imagery is priceless. The inclusion of "we" in some of the lines makes the poem all but more reassuring, seriously, comfort is what this poem is.

Incredible job, @median raven

Wow, I’m honestly speechless. To have my poem compared to “If” by Rudyard Kipling is truly an honor. I’m so glad the imagery and message resonated with you, especially the sky imagery in the second stanza because the second stanza was actually the first thing that came to my mind, and from there, the rest of the poem followed. Thank you for your thoughtful and kind words, they mean so much to me. 💖

I am grateful, I had the pleasure of being tagged for your work. A lot of my own work is engraved—with the topic of grief. So I always adore poems that alter the somewhat negative concept- into looking for the happiness. To see through hope itself.

The metaphor for ‘being a spider’ caught my eye. It’s such an elegant way of giving grace, but encouraging improvement. I adored this poem 🎀♥️

Oh, let me take a read!

I enjoy your forms of repetition at the end and beginning and separation of life and the inorganic. The personification is quite good here. Sticking to the spiderweb metaphor is not what I expected - that being said, I like it!

I really like the line "if you are looking for happiness, see it through the glass of hope and brightness" because it implies the idea of your world changing based on your perspective and how you perceive everything around you

A beautiful poem questioning the path of life and all its hardships.
Every life is filled with its ups and downs, and everyone is searching to be content with their own. Yet that might be hard to do when life keeps kicking you down.
This poem perfectly encapsulates the idea of how no matter the hardships, the sadness, the burdens you experience, they make you stronger, and there is a light in any of them.

Sometimes, we are too focused on seeking what makes us happy and reaching for it, and we blind ourselves from the truth, the fact presented right under our nose: the life you have now is plenty happy. Don't blind yourself with ideals.

The first stanza works as a teaching: if you wish to be happy in life, be kind, and let hope prevail.
In contrast, the same stanza at the end gives the sense of a call to action: you are looking for happiness, yet not in the right way. Remember that joy is hidden everywhere, so give and you shall be given back.
