“It’s such a sad thing to see tragedy strike good people”
He said it so calmly
Like there was no deeper meaning
As we walked from the wake
But tragedy doesn’t strike
It stalks
It waits
It buys its time looking for the perfect prey
Watching for not the lowest moment
But the point where you’ve just crawled
From the pits of desolation
Fighting tooth and nail
covered in more than just your own blood sweat and tears
The point when you’ve finally learned to smile once more
Not faltering in the thoughts that used to pour
Calling upon the sunny days
Until tragedy speaks your name
Moving and binding
Slithering and writhing
Circulating your uncut throat
It buried its fangs deep inside you
Implanting venom
That is to kill you slowly long after it’s gone
There is no antidote
Only a climb from the pit can save you now
And just when you think it can’t get deeper
tragedy strikes again
“It is” I say for there is nothing else it could be
#Tragedy Strikes

İts so true. Just when you get over another problem you were facing, a new problem appears bringing you back down to the pit you just climbed out of.
Also may I ask if its not personal, what inspired you?
YEAH the poem its good!
The way you write --
I like it a lot
"From the pits of desolation
Fighting tooth and nail"
I like it a lot full of emotion and good metaphors
Nice poem!
Basically as I’m growing up I’m thinking about how everything that happens kinda has patterns to it so like I’ll encounter situations where people say similar things or act similar ways so like major Deja Vu but the only real difference for things is time. If that makes sense plus also with the ‘I Want You To Love Me’ song by Fiona Apple going around on TikTok atm just all kinda ties this together for me
Keep writing
Thanks so much! I will!
