Was i the only one?

Prevent your tears from getting in the way,
Between you and me,
Under the Sea i can’t be the only one too stay.
Your pain i won’t just let be.

Between my fingers was your hair that tethers.
İ can’t be the only one searching,
For a life that once was as light as your feathers.
In the sea were you always lurking?

Stroking your scales i found comfort,
İ fell for no song but an angel with a tail,
İ cant be the only one to fail,
Surviving love, to be recovered.

İ heard no song for i can not hear,
Your smile once felt so sincere,
But under the water swallowed by fear,
İ ask you: was i the only one to drown by your “tears” ?

epic. sounds pretty profound but i’m too dumb to figure it out entirely.

Its about how a person tries to accept someone with all their flaws and sees them as is but those flaws are way too much and it ends up being a toxic relationship for the one trying to fix it all.

But people can interpret it differently

I sort of thought that but didn’t really fully realize the thought I had. this poem kind of reminds me of my mother actually. good job ✅
