***On this moonlit and mild night
I look into the deep orange eyes
Of the owls. They show no hints of fear.
But only discernment and peace.They sit on the boughs of the yew tree
As they move their mobile necks,
Scouting even a small footprint of a chicken.
I admire their tendernessWith a great passion,
They give me hope as they open
Their black wings amidst this world.
And the moon, too, sees their serene presenceAnd loveliness.
The moonflowers bloom and sway
To their melodious cooing.
What I see in them are the traitsOf who I am,
The meditation of life they embody,
Their gracious souls that flow
From the pond to the moon,And therefore, kindling beautiful sounds
Of music to my round ears.
I would listen to them all night
Under the twinkling stars.And the message they bring
To my red heart is enthusiasm.
Their spirits are deeply wrapped around my shadows.
They give me confirmation,That there are some good things in this world
That still exists here among the living.
And I, too, can make a difference
And patch the shallow burrows of darkness.***
