Hey... how about promising me something?
You know, I'm tired of vague promises,
Those promises that seem possible but are never kept.

As a poet, I wanted the moon,
I wanted poems, roses,
Wanted your kiss,
Wanted to be wrapped in your arms,
While we're on the couch at night watching something.
I wanted you to promise me love,
Eternity...
Promise me eternity.

Like children do, right?
With a pinky promise, isn't it?
I think I wanted to love, truly,
Look into someone's eyes and say "I love you".
That person looks into my eyes
And says "I love you".

Hugs reciprocated,
Kisses well cherished,
Symphony well sung,
Poems well rhymed,
Books well written,
Tears shared,
Feelings reciprocated,
Listening to the same music,
Living the same story,
Eternally...

You know, when I look into your eyes...
My heart...
Doesn't quite know what to do, it starts to beat a bit off.
My mind lets go of logic,
And I begin to think with my heart.
I become a bit clumsy,
My formal stance disappears.
I guess there's no point
In living on earth while longing for the heavens.

Your smile is the dawn of my life,
Bringing light and warmth just by being shown.

You are the poem I cannot write,
Every curve a rhyme, every gaze a verse that enchants.

Your eyes are infinite,
Where I lose myself and prefer not to be found.

Your hair is like silk in the wind,
Dancing freely, a storm of grace and lightness.

Your voice is the riverbed,
Flowing smoothly and steadily to the infinite sea, guiding my heart.

Your presence is the spring that blooms in the fields of my soul,
Renewing everything around and freeing my feelings from harm.

You are the full moon on a clear night,
Drawing my gaze, renewing my breath, and calming my heart.

This poem is simply beautiful!! The way you portray love as something so immense that it can't even be put into words is incredibly deep. The speaker's desire to be truly loved, to have a lasting and genuine love, is expressed so intensely and openly that we can feel their yearning as we read. Even though there’s a hint that it might be something unreachable, or at least difficult to achieve (nothing is impossible, especially in love), you can feel the love overflowing in every verse, creating a connection with the speaker (because we all dream of a love like that).

From the beginning, the speaker makes an appeal, showing this desire for true love, tired of empty promises made by empty hearts without a drop of feeling, probably looking for fleeting loves and temporary emotions. The desires described, like the moon, roses, being wrapped in the arms of the beloved, the kiss, etc., show how much love the poet has to give. But even so, they just want someone who deserves all that love, who recognizes it and returns it too. And we can see this longing for sincere reciprocity in the fourth stanza:

Hugs reciprocated,
Kisses well cherished,
Symphony well sung,
Poems well rhymed,
Books well written,
Tears shared,
Feelings reciprocated,
Listening to the same music,
Living the same story,
Eternally...

And with the image of a pinky promise, like children do, emphasizing the sincerity and truthfulness of the feelings, because they are as pure and genuine as those of a child, which gives the poem and the speaker's emotions a unique beauty.

The description of how the speaker acts when in the presence of the beloved, showing that they lose their formal stance, demonstrates how comfortable and at ease they feel around them, enough to be themselves without worrying about anything else. This culminates in the verses where they describe details of the beloved, comparing them to beautiful aspects of nature, making her presence enough to calm the speaker's heart, highlighting the impact of this love.

WONDERFUL!!! What an emotional poem, you managed to create a connection between the speaker and the reader; you can practically feel what they feel. I loved it!!SaberSaysPretty SaberSaysPretty NoizeLoves 💙
