Hey... how about promising me something?
You know, I'm tired of vague promises,
Those promises that seem possible but are never kept.
As a poet, I wanted the moon,
I wanted poems, roses,
Wanted your kiss,
Wanted to be wrapped in your arms,
While we're on the couch at night watching something.
I wanted you to promise me love,
Eternity...
Promise me eternity.
Like children do, right?
With a pinky promise, isn't it?
I think I wanted to love, truly,
Look into someone's eyes and say "I love you".
That person looks into my eyes
And says "I love you".
Hugs reciprocated,
Kisses well cherished,
Symphony well sung,
Poems well rhymed,
Books well written,
Tears shared,
Feelings reciprocated,
Listening to the same music,
Living the same story,
Eternally...
You know, when I look into your eyes...
My heart...
Doesn't quite know what to do, it starts to beat a bit off.
My mind lets go of logic,
And I begin to think with my heart.
I become a bit clumsy,
My formal stance disappears.
I guess there's no point
In living on earth while longing for the heavens.
Your smile is the dawn of my life,
Bringing light and warmth just by being shown.
You are the poem I cannot write,
Every curve a rhyme, every gaze a verse that enchants.
Your eyes are infinite,
Where I lose myself and prefer not to be found.
Your hair is like silk in the wind,
Dancing freely, a storm of grace and lightness.
Your voice is the riverbed,
Flowing smoothly and steadily to the infinite sea, guiding my heart.
Your presence is the spring that blooms in the fields of my soul,
Renewing everything around and freeing my feelings from harm.
You are the full moon on a clear night,
Drawing my gaze, renewing my breath, and calming my heart.
