Umm, this piece is like a tightrope walker, delicately balanced between peaks of emotion & valleys of despair. Imagery is vivid, yet it seems to lose its footing as it traverses the fine line between clarity & complexity.

While the tension of the journey is felt….the destination remains elusive, as if the poem never quite decides where it wants to land.

Thank you for your great analysis! I am glad you understand the poem

This is a very different poem to the poetry I usually right, it is very personal, and for the first time I feel like I have wrote a poem truly to just evoke my feelings

I will read this in a little bit when I'm not in fire gear, but good to see you're still around!

I don't think I tell you how much I love your words! The imagery you've used to sluice over the emotion and raw-ness of this poem is so beautiful and painful at the same time. This is different from your usual poetries, I see that. It has a more colloquial tone to it and YET you've executed it so well!

Aww thank you so much Jane! I am really glad that you liked this one as it differs as you said to my other poems. I am really glad you like the word choices and the imagery! I had to think really hard with this one, the entire poem is an extended metaphor of the facial expression of the lips. And how the shape of the lips creates a journey, creates an experience for the speaker’s emotions and state. Being symbolic of happiness, sadness and neutral acceptance. And how there is suffering in all of them
