jericho was a city from the bible that, after 7 days of marching around it, its walls came down. i wrote it about how it’s hard for the people we care about (and ourselves) to lower their defenses and until they do all we can do is keep trying
Wow thats wonderful
I definitely understand the poem now i love the line "however long that is"
I feel like the wording for "i dont know that i could stop" is a little strange and ofc correct me if u had a specific intention for that line, but gramatically i think it should be "i didnt know i could stop" or "i dont know if i can stop" or something like that
And i think u should really expand on that line because its really interesting but feels like there isnt much substance in its meaning if that makes sense
But I really like the use of repetition in that line and the one previous to it so dont remove that because i think its good
Just to elaborate, the sort of feeling i get when i first read that line is this sort of unknowing about the struggle or effort the speaker might have to face at least thats my interpretation and im honestly not great at interpreting poems 😭. Lemme know if thats what u were going for or not
