Post-Other Channel

My idea is to have a channel similar to #1040728773127061514, however, this channel would be used for posting works of poetry outside of this server.

This way, people would be able to share works from poets they really enjoy, be it modern or classical. By doing this, more people would be expose to various amounts of different poetry from different writing styles and eras. I'm sure a lot of poets heard of Sylvia Plath or Edgar Alan Poe, but I'm sure Matsuo Bashō or Anna Akhmatova are a few names not as well known. Having one centralized channel for these poems would make reading through a variety of poetry a breeze.

As poets, we're often looking for inspiration to better improve our own work. Part of the reason why I got into poetry was from reading the works of those who mastered this craft centuries ago. Whether it's for inspiration or for fun, it's always enjoyable reading different poetry from different backgrounds. Plus, it's always fun discussing with the others the many plausible interpretations of a 125 year old poem.

Hmmm not a bad idea but I feel it would just reduce the speciality and effectiveness of #📜・daily-poems

I see, that was not something I had considered.

Though, it could add to that specialness by posting poems others shared in this channel, similar to how SUGGEST FOR THE DAILES works.

We already do most of that in poetry discussion

Not everyone is active during those discussions. Even if that were the case, those conversations would simply get drowned out by other conversations. Plus, I'd say I'm fairly active on this server, and the vast majority of those discussions are on poetry that people from this server created or are creating.

Having a dedicated channel would not only help with centralized organization, but encourage others to share and discover different types of works and poetry. This is a poetry server after all, so there are no downsides to furthering the discussion of poetry from those poets who inspired us to write.

I feel like it basically means to make the #📜・daily-poems a forum channel rather than a text channel.

I rather like this idea.

If this implementation occurs, I feel like #📜・daily-poems could still exist doing what it's already doing. If anything, #📜・daily-poems could just rebrand as "Mod's Picks" or something in the same vein
