damnn this piece is a richly descriptive and introspective snapshot of a poignant moment in time
The way u use of descriptive language and imagery allow us to see the setting and feel the emotions of urs as u witness potential parents and children in an orphanage, and the tension build as the clock ticks closer to noon
The sudden disappearance of everyone in the room and ur confusion and desperation after the second passes is a powerful moment that leaves a lasting impact, i really like it
The final revelation that ur the one grieving the death of ur own childishness and loss of potential is a thought provoking ending
wow ok firstly this piece is intense and super deep!?!?!? 😭 the whole concept of time just pausing and that one second feeling like an eternity is so powerful. youve nailed the sense of dread and hope all tangled up together. the way you describe the kids and their situation is heart-wrenching. i could feel the frustration and helplessness in your words.
and its so damn powerful how you capture the contrast between the kids’ reality and the expectations of the adults looking to adopt. i especially love the ending 😭 the realization of lost childhood and unfulfilled promises hits hard. It’s like youre peeling back layers of emotion and exposing the raw pain and longing underneath. the crying for the child within and the change that never comes—its heavy and so real. this piece just leaves me thinking and feeling a lot. loved it!!!!
Your poems never fail to complicate and itch my brain. The creativity is amazing to see.
