Your heart of glass carefully rebuilt
You shroud it closely, but you let me in
Every crack every missing piece I see
Each imperfection I accept openly

Haunting you with unresolved guilt
Each bit of it you judge like a god with sin
Your past although it lingers near
I will not let it shatter you newfound cheer

I hear its cracking beat echoing through your halls
Catching each piece as the pain floods through once again
The shards I gently solder back into place
And back I fight your pain, my fists a mace

No matter how many times a piece falls
No matter the count of cracks you have in the end
I will help you to solder these shards back, alas
I love you for every bit of your heart like stained glass

i will give feedback now bc heheh stained glass imagery kills my broken heart (pun intended)

i like how you describe the especially human experience of love and devotion, especially in the perspective a strong, steady soldier ready to fight your beloved's literal pain with your own bare fists, or in reality, gentle, fixing hands

which perfectly transitions to the next and last stage of the poem, comparing the heart to fragile class, especially stained glass. to me, and this doesnt exactly apply to my actual translation of the piece/its js my own way of seeing things, makes me think of a church. so holy, beautiful, and wonderful but also evokes a powerful, mysterious, higher presence, much like how, in the biblical sense, the heart is (and how it is "created in His image". stained glass must be broken and painted before it can be pieced together (i have no idea how stained glass mosiacs are made LOL), like how a heart is made up of different things that build from a lifetime, like glass pieces broken from a bigger picture and pieced together. This makes the heart a beautiful, yet fragile creation---its stained glass being the walls which harbors the soul inside, like its own little church. stained glass may crack, shatter, or be broken entirely, but its comforting knowing there is someone in this world so absolutely faithful that they'll pick up those pieces, no matter how sharp they may be, and put you back together like a wonderfully loving mosiac
