on your long sleeve
stitches of my love
that were extraordinary
now
unmended
and untrusted
my heart
that was once
parallel to yours
frigid poppies on
doorsteps
muzzled
and elusive memories
stitches of
my love that
were extraordinary
now
your hooks of grief
are attached
to me
like barnacles
eyes bloated in purple
this unforgiving parallel
this unfathomed
misery
that I can't seem
to erase
my heartstrings
clang to
the riptides
memories that were washed
from my side and your side
these trees are
smothered
in fury
open wounds confine
to dark tombs
shriveled love poems
lying on my chest
curtains unfolding on these
hideous regrets
your false tears conflicted
on my mattress.

The way u use the images and metaphors like "stitches of love" and "hooks of grief," really create a strong sense of physical and emotional pain
