it does beat flying to pheonix. i hate pheonix.
and more than that, they all feel like real people; the description is brilliant, and it adds to the sort of distant feeling of the setting quite well. i specifically love "smooth faces of vacancy", that line is spectacular, as well as all those that surround it; it really gets the image in your head.
the things you choose to delve into with greater analysis are always so fascinating and perfectly chosen, and they're by far my favorite aspect of your work. the tidbit about the bed and not wanting to make it, about how "maybe she would want to think of it that way", carries a certain specific, smirking intimacy, perhaps a plot, or a gentle reminder of "i was there once, too."
and the bit with her hair? AAUGGH gosh you are an absolutely wonderful writer. it not only hits home exactly to the image, adds yet another introspective detail that is such a hallmark in your work, but also forces the reader to enter a similar reflective state, a "huh. yeah.. where have i seen that before? that lazy sunday? possibly."
meant to reply to the pheonix comment
apologies
i highly doubt it
you seem to have a knack for weaving your way through life, through every little intricacy of your surroundings; the world is vast, and so too is your work
each poem feels like but a thread, a passing musing on the perceivably simple that carries within it a nod to something more meaningful than simple street signs and hair
tldr: don't worry, i love your work
i keep having to retype stuff, really makes me realize how many expletives i tend to throw in to casual speech
Bro the nostalgia and melancholy this gives
the word choice in this one is also immaculate
how do you do these things. they're all so good.
i've always been drawn to literature that explores topics in a similar manner, drawing from one experience and stretching it out, and you tackle a similar tactic so well
Yeah rereading it and it still hits
@opal wolf I am now having to ask you to please maintain a good language in the server. (You know about the blocked msgs)
LOL just a small oopsie
i assure you, it is not.
Just a small joke
Brother you gonna get kicked just take the pill
we have a lot of underage and teens in the server. No swearing. Period.
Oh my gosh bro shut up you can’t get kicked or I will starve to death for good poetry
we may weep together
i have read more poetry in the past two days than i have in a terribly long time, this server really is a wealth of life experience made words
i saw the "noble is typing..." vanish for a moment and even raised a brow
LOLL
i will not tell you to conduct yourself as long as you maintain the rules.
If not, I will have to take actions.
we have a #1230173300978745506 for such things.
Bai bai, "truthseeker". Lean the difference between truth and being the jerk who thinks swearing is "truth".
idc if it was great or not. that kind of behaviour will land you in the banspot. He didn't listen and even insulted the rules and me. And a few people's poems.
oh-
Bro what—
I wasn’t at all speaking against anyone, I was just saying that what he wrote was a good read. You banning him is between you and him, please don’t attach me to it just because I recognized his skill at writing poetry.
He said he’d send you what it was in dms if you add him
fs
i dmd him anyway and it said i couldnt cuz we werent friends 😭
A reminder. I don't know what Noble said, and it's already done. This message isn't about his commotion, so you can feel safe about giving it a rest. It's impossible for me to dig it up now.
The reminder is: Apokalyptikos was, indeed, just saying that what Noble wrote was a good read. And you confirmed yourself that whether it was great or not had nothing to do with Noble's behavior and him being banned.
Then why reply to Apokalyptikos 3 hours later?
...And then also saying it yourself to give it a rest.
The reminder is, read messages carefully next time. You're a mod.
That was nothing. Maybe that was a misunderstanding. I didn't say anything to apokales. Sorry if it seemed so.
