Underwater - Personal Favorite

Underwater

It’s overflowing, water’s going, flowing in my sink
There’s no way knowing if it’s growing, please get me a drink
I gave up boating, gave up floating, now I’m underwater
I can’t explain, though I’m underwater
I can’t explain why it’s getting hotter
When you grow older, you will smolder in your liquid prison
Art is mild insanity mixed with vision
And I see the water, as it surrounds me
And I see the future will be me drowning
As I swim, directing the embrace
Fully in this molecular disgrace
Please, can you help me with my thirst?
If I don’t drink soon, I fear the worst
It is worth noting I was hoping I’d be underwater
I can’t explain, though I’m underwater
I can’t explain why it’s getting hotter
Oh, and I can’t spare a single drop,
Oh, and they won’t care until I stop
When you grow older, you will smolder in your liquid prison
People will grow colder, selfish, it’s their new religion
And you’ll see the water, as it surrounds you
And you’ll see the future, they’ll have drowned you
I gave up hoping, started choking, I am underwater

The rhymes you use here is what amazes me.
I like the theme of underwater. ( I frequently use water in my poetry )
The first three lines really hooked me in.

Yeah idk how to explain, it’s just easier for me to write it on paper. If I try typing it I just end up staring blankly at the screen

I get the same exact description.
It for me... overwhelms me, and makes it... easier?
( in the sense that I could just search up anything )
I prefer to use what I know and grow my vocabulary with music.

Exactly! I’ve never in my life looked up words that rhyme with each other.
It feels better to write it vanilla, haha.
