بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم اعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم

the jinn are awake;

they lack an image you can see,
but they have a presence defined.
they toil and tally,
they stick and stack,
they gather around,
but never go away.
they come together,
but never flee.
they await thee,
but naught, you forgot.
for they are in aught, a sign.
when the night draw over the day,
they always stay.
be aware of them,
when they array.

I see a fellow muslim here as well. The bismillah at the beginning of your poem reminds me Rumi who used to do the same... I like your poem!!

One thing though, which is merely a suggestion and in the end it's your choice what you do! but what I like to do with religious poems is to hide the meaning and make it interpretable in different ways. This poem, no doubt, is great! For me, at least, because I know what a jinn is. But I can imagine people not knowing it, you could add an explanation afterwards but what's cool and what you could check out/try out/experiment with is 'hiding' what you're trying to say with symbolism, which simultaneously makes the poem richer in a way but also makes it interpretable for the people who don't know what Jinn are for example. It's just something you could think about, don't do it if you don't wanna or if it doesn't fit your style, etc., because your poems are great already!!
