damn! this was so epic (in a literary sense). i loved the sue of the language here, the inventive use of the metaphor "storm in a teacup" ("there is no cup to hold a hurricane"), the "I raise the dead, not fall the leaving" and the whole ending. i'm not sure if i understand most of it, mainly because im atheist and not european. it was nonetheless fun to look up the mythology/history behind the words. my problem with poems like these is the use of the archaic word formations. as a linguistics student AND as a poet, ive always preached not to use archaic forms (Thee, bitwixt, etc.) in modern english because it seems misplaced among other MODERN english words you use (yea, crazy and gifted, I am still mixed up and crosswired). Its like using Sanskrit / Greek words in Present-day Hindi / English. any which way, i thought this poem hit everywhere it shouldve, incl. the ending. again, i didnt understand a lot of t but still a good read

if you promise to read my holy book i promise to read the vedas and upanishads
just give a quick glance to it, ill review it tomorrow (its 11 am here), but kudos to u to use ACTUAL old english words and not just a selective few
well i dont think most hindus have read the vedas and upanishads either
its a lot of complex poetic verse sanskrit stuff, hindi is very different than gothic sanskrit
it wasnt offending i think
do you know of a good english translation?
but yeah i think from what i know about, the vedas and upanishads ARE very smart with topics ranging from sex, economics, ethics, astrology, linguistics, spirituality and stuff
a lot of present day astronomy has its traces back to old sanskrit work
im not sure i know a lot of religion -- again, im atheist
yatharth no worries man. i dislike religion as well
i dont go to church, per se
i believe god is inside all of us
hinduism has a lot of similar beliefs!
each world religion has a piece of truth
i aim to take and make my own conclusions
each has their own personal relationship with God, if they so choose
even athiests, who view him as a flying spaghetti monster
*even athiests,
who view him as a flying
spaghetti monster*
insult taken
no but i have almost similar beliefs
if you do, then take heart in knowing that if you try to pray, he'll answer
just don't be tricked or accept any power
because power will be your only reward, and wisdom will fail you
*because power will
be your only reward, and
wisdom will fail you*
