My heart gains weight
With every passing year,
Burdening my belly
With its unwieldy weight.
No food to eat, to
Fill my stomach,
I’m encumbered the same
With an immovable burden,
Struggling to move
With the downward pull
Of my growing mass,
To pull me down
In the ravenous sea,
Brought down to drown
By the stone in my soul.

I particularly like the phrase ' By stone in my soul '. No critiques BTW. Well written. Good poem.
