general help

I honestly don't know what I'm writing half the time
I've stopped planning my WIPs already (novels) and started writing more poetry, but I can't seem to find a style in my writing. I really like rhyming but that seems to be it. there's these really deep poems and I'm like wow I wish I could do that but nope my poems just rhyme :D

it's like if I'm not rhyming, then I'm just spewing out random words
so it's not really a poem

Hmm
when I write, I often don't write as complete poems, but rather in lines-that-belong-together
they might end up in twenty different poems when I come back to them - I just keep rolling them around in my head if they don't feel complete enough, or I feel like something is missing
Or I repeat them out loud - sometimes just one or two lines, and then I randomly start adding something and I'm like "wow, that's actually not too bad" and write it down somewhere, in case of me forgetting it completely
I also tend to make little variations in my word choice when saying it out loud, because I hear the little edges that make me feel like something is off
(I just keep going back to different poems until I'm like "oh, I think this is a complete poem")
Might also be related to most of my poems being a bit longer

I rhyme a lot too, but it's so not necessary to make a good poem
Maybe read more poetry, and find poems that you like-- without rhymes?
Or maybe rhyming is just your style, but you could still alternate rhyme schemes and stuff like that?
