Add (potentially age restricted) NSFW/Sensitive Chats and Discussions

I'm worried that some of the humor that we see in certain common places, like poetry discussion or perhaps off topic, may prove off putting to new users.

I'd like to see people be able to joke, or discuss anything of any topic - but I feel that the big channels should be more tame and SFW to help welcome new people. I recently saw the introductions list, and there are A LOT of lurkers here. I want them to feel comfortable to chat with us if they so wish, how they wish.

People could still be silly, it just wouldn't be at the first place people might see when they visit the server.

Regarding age restriction - I have less thoughts perhaps. But I would, as a 33 year old, like a place where I could share sensitive content with other people who are closer to my age (and ideally older than myself).

I just want the option however - it does not have to be a hard limit in my own opinion.

exactly - that way we can keep off topic and discussion clean for fresh mea... I MEAN NEWCOMERS while also letting people be silly to their hearts content hopefully

My two cents: People tend to use channels such as those for themes disallowed by Discord TOS or things that are bound to offend someone. I have seen it, And while it may be more acceptable or okay in smaller communities, I worry that could be problematic in a larger community such as this. With moderators now present, hopefully the troubling topics will not be so ubiquitous.

Additionally. In regard to Lurkers, some people just have several other discord channels and responsibilities, This channel may be somewhere they peek in here and there to share their poetry or read poetry and are not necessarily interested in the gossip aspect.

mm my concern is the TOS are getting close during some times here and there already at times IN those channels but...

I like your idea tbh - but I feel like it would happen less if age restricted? But you changed my mind somewhat! The channels have been a bit better though lately again for sure - so I'm probably worried over nothing anywho.
