This. Is. Absolutely. Beautiful.
wow ❤️‍🩹
I connected with this so much. The choices of words are perfect, and I love the line "You were the brightest, the best part of me. Yet now you're distant, a mere memory. " Already demonstrating the message behind the rest of the poem coming. While also showing that- a piece of one's soul was pulled away as the other parted.
"Thank you for being there when I needed you most." That one hit deep. Like once a vital part of one's life, the person was the missing piece now gone. Now having to learn to adjust to new doors without their 'buddy'. And the other as well, but you feel as if they are coping easier-ly, maybe even forgotten about the memories shared between each other. As if they dont think of their past with you, as you think of your past with them.
Ofc though, this is just how I view this. My interpretation.
I gotta' say, one of my favorite poems here so far ♡

"I release my expectations, setting you free, for it seems our once-shared dreams cannot be." Letting go of your own dreams, future, or opportunity, so that the other can 'fly' by themselves, for both together would only weigh them down.
