does this pertain to a specific event, what inspired you to write this?
Memories, mostly
Any further thoughts before I yeet?
dont yeet it
I’m not gonna keep it up in this server
Technically social media doesn’t count but I presume whoever I submit it to will want primary publishing rights, if it’s accepted, so sharing it’s a touch risky, at least in my mind.
I find the introduction draws me in and introduces the theme well, comparing distributing packs of cigarettes to harmful actions like tear gas and bulldozing during protests.
the blend of destruction against innocence is a poignant contrast.
additionally the mention of the speakers mother gives it a human touch and illustrates emotion connection or weight you, your family, and those connected to the area may carry.
"children staring at this red" and more than one generation is affected is an important theme that I appreciate.
and finally the conclusion, despite choices made, some people are still impacted in a harmful way.
great poem about real events, thanks for sharing
Ah, thank you
ok, I understand.
I hadnt had a chance to read it properly right away.
I have read it now. thank you.
No worry, I’ll probably leave it up until this evening
