(This is another warmup/draft. It's messy and incomplete. I wrote it for the sake of writing something today. It's growing on me a little, but keep those things in mind when you read. Still encourage feedback, though!)

In/affective
I need to borrow your eyes for something —
To step in your illfitted shoes[,/;] I need to[!]
borrow your eyes for something (my own
[mind’s] are blinded) to see this one through
I take your place. — I fall to the ground/
apart[on impact]. — Like a poor man[‘s]
numblywounded / chea-pleather boot.
I try to see it / the only way out is
through your eyes I borrow for something
most can already [make] do — but I’ve none/no
heart left [with which] to do (this alone/it[ to])

This is a nice poem. The structure is also different. Is it like looking at someone's perspective?

Cool concept. You could make it a long form thing asking to borrow other things like someone's mind/heart/soul.

So it's about uh. The idea of affective/emotional empathy vs. cognitive empathy. It's about a narrator who struggles to feel for others but who still tries to anyways, feeling lesser/broken for lacking this capacity but still trying and still basically fighting what they see as their nature, trying to fit in a shoe that just...doesn't fit, devaluing themselves in the process bc they don't realise that they do have compassion/cognitive empathy
