Look at the wind brushing past my face,
Time flying by with its game of chess,
I feel like a pawn about to take her final step,
I'll soon be the Queen my soul manifests.
The vermilion shades dabbed across,
I see the sun - a blaze - out of the corner of my eye,
And the clouds like baby pink candy floss,
Painted up in that majestic sky.
If this vintage polaroid can't say enough,
The amber lit sky with the colors of tomorrow,
And the river like a jewel under the blood red sun,
Can clearly show the real adventure's just begun.
The silhouettes that rippled on every blade of grass,
The silence that resounded from the fissures on the floor,
The river's frozen surface - cracked like glass,
I'll look the criticism in the eye and I'll go on for evermore.
The rain slashing against the windshield,
My life's that kind of blur right now,
I wipe away at the surface - watch the fabric crease,
Returning from the billboards displayed downtown.
And the signal blares a bloodshot red,
The eclipse takes up a mighty flare,
There's going to be so much ahead,
And I know it will never be broken beyond repair.
So as I watch the skyline gleam,
I wonder if it's all a dream,
The colors rage in majestic galore,
But I'll go on for evermore.
