I am like a rubber band

You can stretch me
And you can bend me
As far as you want
And I will not break

I am like a rubber band

You can throw me across the room
And you can hit me
as hard as you want
But I will not break

I am like a rubber band

You can hurt me
You can damage me inside and out,
From head to toe
But I won't break

I swear I won't break
I refuse to break
I have never broken

I won't shed a tear
Or at least in the light
I am suffocating,
It's like I can't breathe
I can only let out silent screams until...

To me it means the image that you put on. You act tough and like you are perfectly fine. You will cry silently in the darkness where nobody can see you until you break. That is the message I tried to convey. I know it's not very good though, it's a new style of writing for me 🙂

I like the message behind this poem. Everyone and everything has limits. One tries and tries to keep themselves together, but in time, their own elasticity will become weak, and therefore break. Good work :)
